Pastor Gustino Kadzuwa, a dedicated EMIT student from Ntcheu Sharpe Vale Chingamba Village, is making a significant impact on his community through his unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. As the Leader of Gospel Harvest Church, he has spearheaded a remarkable tree planting initiative that has already yielded impressive results.
“my passion is my community …”
Inspired by the alarming deforestation and soil erosion plaguing their area, Pastor Kadzuwa and his team of 23 volunteers embarked on this ambitious project in August. Their dedication has led to the planting of an astounding 10,000 seedlings in just a few short months.
To ensure the success of this initiative, the team has diligently sourced plastic tubes and seeds, and implemented a rigorous watering schedule, particularly during the crucial seed germination phase.
This project will improve air quality by planting trees, prevent soil erosion, and create economic opportunities through the use of timber and resources from the trees.
Pastor Kadzuwa’s initiative serves as an inspiring example of how individuals can make a substantial difference in their communities. By taking action to address environmental challenges, we can create a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.
